Compound Words
A quick reference for everyone!
No longer does an author need to interrupt the flow of his/her creativity to verify, in a 2,000+ page dictionary, the correct format of a compound word.
A favorite definition of a compound word is: a term made up of two or more words which when combined create a new term with its own definition.
Compound Words contains over 15,500 of the most commonly used compound words–listed alphabetically so that a simple fanning through the pages brings the author to the desired word and spelling within moments. At a glance, it is clear if a compound word consists of a single word, multiple words, or hyphenated words.
Other information, such as which spelling belongs to which part of speech, also speeds up the process of choosing the appropriate compound word. Also, it is easy to instantly see if one spelling of a compound word is used more often in today’s literature.
This book is a useful reference book. Many authors suggest that it belongs next to every dictionary and thesaurus. It is 288 pages long and is available at amazon.com. Enter “Compound Words David R. Christensen.”
